These terms set out the rules for using Nelof, the free browser games website at https://www.nelof.com. By visiting the site or playing a game on it, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
We have tried to write this in plain English rather than boilerplate. Where something matters, we have said what it actually means for you.
1. Who We Are and What This Site Is
Nelof is an independently operated website that publishes a curated library of free browser games. Throughout these terms, “Nelof”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operators of nelof.com, and “you” and “your” mean anyone using the site.
Nelof is free. There is no subscription, no account, no paid tier, and nothing to buy. The site is funded by advertising.
2. Who May Use Nelof
Anyone may browse and play. If you are under 13, you should use the site with a parent or guardian, and you should not submit personal information through our contact form. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Nelof only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for making sure that using Nelof is lawful in your country. If browser games or advertising-funded websites are restricted where you are, do not use the site.
3. The Games Are Not Ours
This is the single most important thing in these terms, so we have given it its own section.
Nelof does not develop the games listed on this site and does not host them. Each game is a third-party browser game that we license and embed in an iframe, primarily through the games distribution platform GamePix. When you press play, the game loads directly from the provider’s servers.
All rights in the games themselves, including their code, artwork, characters, music and trademarks, belong to their respective developers and publishers. Nelof claims no ownership over any game. We make no claim to be the author of any game on this site, and nothing on Nelof should be read as suggesting otherwise.
Because the games are not ours, we cannot modify them, add features to them, fix bugs inside them, recover your in-game progress, or guarantee that any particular game will remain available. A provider may withdraw a game at any time, in which case it will stop working on our page and we will remove or replace it.
4. Rights Holders: Removal and Correction Requests
If you are the developer, publisher or rights holder of a game that appears on Nelof and you want the credit corrected, the description amended, or the game removed from the site, email contact@nelof.com with the game name and the URL of the page. We will action reasonable requests promptly and without argument. We would rather remove a game than list it against the wishes of the person who made it.
The same applies to any image, text or other material on the site that you believe infringes your copyright. Tell us what it is and where it is, and we will investigate and remove it where appropriate.
5. Our Own Content
The written material on Nelof, meaning our game descriptions, how-to-play guides, control lists, tips, frequently asked questions, category pages and site copy, is original work written by us. The Nelof name, logo and site design are ours.
You may read, share and link to our pages freely. You may not copy our written content wholesale and republish it on another website, scrape the site in bulk, or present our material as your own. If you would like to quote a passage with a link back to the source page, that is fine and you do not need to ask.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use automated tools to scrape, crawl aggressively, mirror or harvest the site or its content
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, or any connected system
- interfere with the normal operation of the site, including by overloading it or introducing malicious code
- circumvent, disable or interfere with security features, or with the advertising the site depends on
- reframe or re-embed our pages in a way that misrepresents them as belonging to someone else
- post comments that are unlawful, abusive, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that consist of spam or advertising
- use the site for any unlawful purpose
We may remove any comment and block access from any source that breaches these rules, without notice.
7. Comments
Where comments are enabled, comments represent the views of the person who posted them and not of Nelof. We do not pre-screen every comment, but we reserve the right to edit or delete any comment for any reason. By posting a comment you confirm you have the right to post it, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the site.
8. Advertising
Nelof carries advertising, and we intend to serve ads through Google AdSense and other ad networks. Advertisements are supplied by third parties and their appearance on Nelof is not an endorsement by us of the advertiser, its products, or its claims. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser. Please read our Privacy Policy for how advertising affects your data.
9. Links to Other Websites
Nelof links to third-party websites, including game providers and advertisers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. Once you leave Nelof, these terms no longer apply and the other site’s terms do.
10. Availability and Changes to the Site
We aim to keep Nelof online and working, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. The site may be unavailable for maintenance, due to hosting problems, or for reasons outside our control. We may add games, remove games, change categories, or alter any part of the site at any time without notice.
11. Disclaimer
Nelof is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site or any game will be error free, uninterrupted, free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any defect will be corrected. We write our own game guides carefully, but we do not warrant that every description, control listing or tip is complete or free of error, because games are updated by their developers after we write about them. If you find something wrong, please tell us and we will fix it.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nelof and the people who operate it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the site. This includes loss of data, loss of in-game progress, loss of profits, and damage to your device.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nelof and its operators against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.
14. Privacy
Your use of Nelof is also governed by our Privacy Policy and our Cookies Policy, which form part of these terms.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
16. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.
17. Governing Law
Nelof is operated from India. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
