About Us
Nelof launched in April 2026 with one stubborn idea: free online games should actually be free. No paywalls hiding the best levels. No five-second “ads” that turn into five-minute videos. No accounts to create just to try a puzzle. We built Nelof.com because we were tired of clicking on a game and being asked for a credit card.
Today the library holds 130 browser games across six categories. Every one of them runs directly in your browser on desktop, tablet or phone, and every one stays free, every visit, every player, every time.
Who Runs Nelof
Nelof is run by a small team of long-time gamers and web developers based in India. Between us we have been playing browser games since the early Flash era, and we watched the free-games space slowly fill up with low-quality clones, broken links, and sites that bury the actual game under a wall of pop-ups. Nelof is the site we wished existed when we were younger, and honestly the site we still wish existed today.
We are not a big company. We are not backed by investors. We run Nelof as a passion project that pays for itself through a small number of ads. The whole thing is small enough that when you email us, one of the people who built the site is the person who writes back.
Where Our Games Come From
We want to be straight about this, because a lot of game sites are not. We do not make the games on Nelof. They are browser games created by independent developers and studios around the world, and we license and embed them through the games distribution platform GamePix. When you press play, the game loads from the provider’s servers, not ours.
All rights in the games, the code, the art, the music and the characters, belong to the people who made them. Every game page on Nelof carries a credit line saying so. If you are a developer and you want a credit corrected or your game taken down, email us and we will do it, no argument required.
What is ours is the writing. Every description, controls guide, tips list and FAQ on this site was written by us, by hand.
What We Actually Do Here
It is worth being precise about the work, because “curated” is a word that gets thrown around loosely.
- We keep the library small on purpose. There are tens of thousands of browser games we could list. We list 130. The gap between those two numbers is the whole editorial position of this site.
- We write every page ourselves. No page on Nelof carries a description pasted in from a distributor feed. We research each game and write the description, the controls, the tips and the FAQ from scratch, in our own words.
- We say what a game actually is. Where a game is built for two players on one keyboard, or is keyboard-only, or is aimed at young children, or deals with adult subject matter, the page says so rather than leaving you to find out.
- We fix what gets reported. Games are updated and sometimes withdrawn by their developers after we write about them. When a reader tells us a game is broken or a page is wrong, that goes to the top of the list, and the game gets corrected or removed.
If we have described a game inaccurately, got a control scheme wrong, or missed something that matters, we would genuinely rather hear about it than not. Tell us and we will correct the page.
What Is In the Library Today
Six categories, 130 games, weighted towards the kind of thing that works well in a browser tab:
- Arcade (57 games) – our biggest section. Quick reflex games, runners, dodgers and classic arcade-style shooters built for short sessions.
- Puzzles (40 games) – sliding tiles, number merging, block fitting, escape rooms, mahjong and spot-the-difference. Easy to learn, satisfying to master.
- Adventure (19 games) – story-driven games, exploration and platforming, for players who want a journey rather than a score.
- Strategy (6 games) – defence, planning and resource games where thinking ahead beats reacting fast.
- Board Game (5 games) – digital takes on tabletop favourites, including chess, checkers and connect-four style games.
- Sports (3 games) – our smallest section and the one we are actively growing. Soccer, darts, air hockey and similar.
The library grows as we find games worth adding. We would rather add four good games a month than four hundred we cannot stand behind, so the counts above move slowly and deliberately. If there is a browser game you love and think belongs here, send it to us.
Our Promise To Players
- Every game stays free. No premium version, ever.
- No sign-up required. Open the page and hit play.
- We write every page ourselves. Nothing here is pasted in from a feed.
- We credit the people who made the games, and we remove anything a rights holder asks us to.
- We answer contact messages within two to three working days.
- If a game breaks and you tell us, we fix it or we remove it.
Why We Show Ads
Hosting, bandwidth, and the time we spend building and writing these pages are not free. We show a small number of ads on Nelof so we can keep adding games without charging visitors anything. We follow Google’s ad placement guidelines, and we do not run anything that gets in the way of the game.
We will never run pop-up ads. We will never run ads that auto-play sound. We will never run ads that block the game you came here to play. If you ever see an ad on Nelof that does one of those things, report it to us and it comes off.
